Welcome to Norman Percy General Hospital, better known as "No Mercy General" (thanks to a few burnt-out letters on the neon sign that no one’s bothered to fix). Set in a satirical parallel universe, this hospital is a place where the chaos and absurdity of emergency medicine are dialed up to 11. While the medicine practiced here is as real as it gets, the people, places, and endless hospital gossip are pure fantasy.
No Mercy General is an underfunded, understaffed community hospital at the heart of a sprawling urban area, and it's just barely hanging on. Private equity firms have shut down most of the neighboring hospitals, leaving this one as one of the few still standing—and it shows. The specialty coverage is hit or miss (usually miss), the waiting room is always packed, and the ambulance bay never gets a break. It's the kind of place where you might find a lost scalpel from the ‘90s before you find an available specialist, and where the biggest miracle is finding someone who’ll pick up a consult at 3 AM.

It just keeps happening.”
Dr. Lucas "Lucky" Ramirez – The Eternal Resident
Dr. Ramirez has been a resident for... well, no one quite remembers how long. He’s on a first-name basis with every nurse, janitor, and vending machine in the hospital, and his endless streak of bizarre luck (both good and bad) keeps him around. He’s always “this close” to finishing residency—if only he could get through his last evaluation without some epic disaster striking.
Nurse Clara O’Hara – Queen of the Night Shift
Clara is the no-nonsense, unflappable veteran of the night shift. She knows more about the inner workings of the hospital than the administrators ever will, and her keen sixth sense can predict the next disaster before it even hits. Clara has a heart of gold hidden beneath a few dozen layers of sarcasm and exhaustion.
Dr. Gary Patel – The Elusive Specialist
Dr. Patel is technically on staff as a consultant, but good luck finding him. He’s the mysterious figure every resident whispers about when you’re trying to page a specialist. He only appears when the hospital is in the throes of chaos, stepping in like a mythic hero to solve the impossible, then disappearing back into the night. Or maybe he’s just really bad with his pager.
Marvin "Marty" Johnson – The Long-Suffering Hospital Administrator
Marty's job is keeping the hospital running, but mostly he just tries to keep it from falling apart. Between budget cuts, staff shortages, and his inability to fix that neon sign, he's always one breakdown away from losing it. Marty is constantly at odds with the clinical staff, especially when they keep using duct tape and “creativity” to fix problems that should involve actual money.
